Good cable so far, great price. It works too. Item arrived today, only took 3 days for std shipping. Wire is good thickness with decent quality connectors. My video card (GeForce FX5200) has both VGA & DVI. I had to install the Nvidia drivers to get both VGA monitor and HDMI LCD TV to display properly. It took a while playing with the Nvidia settings, but I think my TV via this DVI-HDMI cable now displays 1080i (1280x1024) from the computer, and my VGA monitor displays a separate different resolution (1024x768) both at the same time! I would give it 5 stars but I have to verify the length at 10ft, seems a bit shorter than that.

Picture is nice with 2 exceptions - black level & backlight uniformity. This TV would be just fine in a brighter room, but I bought it for the bedroom & it just doesn't cut it in the dark.. Blacks are dark gray at best, & the backlight is pretty uneven IMO. Then again this is my first LCD TV, maybe I'm expecting too much. Just ordered a new Samsung to replace, hopefully that will meet my expectations.

I purchased the Toshiba 26AV502U for $399 in January 2009 from 6th Ave Electronics in NY/NJ metro area. The picture quality and sound remain excellent for use in our kitchen where we have it wall mounted with a Sanus MF202. This allows us to easily change the viewing angle but for most part we view straight-on. I knew when purchasing this is not going to be par with a Regza/Bravia/Aquos experience. But it delivers good performance for the price. Our viewing on this set is mostly news or evening prime time shows and some sports events. Sound quality is terrific. Our provider is Verizon FIOS. We have set the pic resolution to 720p. I do not think 1080i adds to viewing experience on a 26" tv. I too agree some very dark movie scenes are difficult to view. We have the FIOS media DVR attached to another tv. I have noticed a red "bleed" (on something like a woman's dress) when viewing a previously recorded 'live' show but I have not seen this effect while viewing on demand or scheduled movies or shows. I assume problem is with the FIOS DVR quality and not the tv. We have used tv occasionally with a laptop but we need to reset the pic size and resolution defaults for the tv everytime we go from FIOS to laptop and back again.

Had it for 3 days, it is going back to Amazon. Fan makes VERY loud, high-pitched noise. I turned computer on without the card--CPU and power supply (new Thermaltake) are almost silent. I just got this graphics card, and it's great. I play valve's source games such as TF2,CSS, and GMOD. I can play all these games at full quality and every setting on high without any lag. So if you're into steam games like me, this is the perfect card. It's price and performance together equals an A+.

With the change from an analog television signal over to a digital one in February of '09 there's been a lot of talk going on in the green circles. What does this have to do with saving energy? Well, the consensus is that a lot of those folks who are still hanging on to the "old" style of TV will start to seriously look at replacing their sets. Sure you can get that converter box thing but maybe it's time to break down and get a new TV. But what's the best green choice?

So here's the question: Do you go with a Plasma or an LCD? Which is more efficient and the "least bad" for the environment over the course of it's lifespan? It's a good question and one I had to look into. Here's the basics...

- The Plasma set is going to, on average, create more heat than the same sized LCD set.

- Both styles of modern sets are reported to have a life span of roughly 60,000 hours. This seems to be the current benchmark for a "good" TV life. From checking around this seems to be more of a theory than a certainty. How long is 60,000 hours? Well with about 8760 hours in a year it comes out to just less than 7 years. (This, if anything, should be a shocker. Can you image looking back at your life and realizing that you spent 7 years of your life staring at the tv? )

- The energy use by a Plasma TV is going to be pretty much the same, if not a bit higher, than the same size LCD set. The difference starts to show up in what size set you're looking for. The LCD sets are going to be available in much smaller sizes than the Plasma. LCDs can be as small as about a 12 inch screen where the smallest Plasma you can currently get is around 35 or 36 inches. So on a per-square-inch-of-screen basis they are about the same but you can get a smaller LCD than you can a Plasma and the smaller the set the less energy it uses AND the less materials go into the making of it.

- Both will have the same problems with some nasty chemicals namely nitrogen trifluoride. This stuff is nasty, nasty, nasty. I've seen it reported that it can remain in the air for anywhere from 500 to 900 years and is wildly considered one of the worst chemicals when it comes to global warming. In some scientific circles they consider all the coal fired plants we've got, with all the waste and CO2 and everything else that goes along with them, are better for the environment than the production of nitrogen trifluoride.

- Both styles are going to have similar problems when it comes time to throw them out. Their e-waste issues are about the same however as these TV's come more and more into common use we can hope that newer regulations will alleviate some of the problems.

So. The best bet is to simply not own a TV which is way easier than it sounds (going on 5 years without TV service of any kind and I don't miss it a bit). You can keep your current TV for as long as you can but at some point it will die. By then they simply won't make "old" style TV's anymore and you'll have to choose a newer style. Best bet? Probably a smaller LCD set. Whatever you decide try and get a TV with the Energy Star symbol! Thanks!

I live in southwest Florida between Tampa and Fort Myers and needed a multi-directional antenna. This looked like it would work well so I bought it. It gets fantastic reception on digital channels and I am very pleased with my purchase. Delivery was very quick also.

A reputable manufacturer, but this antenna did not perform as well as our 15-year old VHF/UHF antenna in the attic. We're about 30-miles and one laughably-low set of "mountains" from the major TV transmitters. We tried a variety of positions and orientations, but it never caught as many stations, either analog nor the newer digital ones, as our old antenna. Admittedly, our old one was a "premium" antenna at the time, but we figured that this one should be newer technology and get a stronger signal with the new digital channels or catch more of them, and it was the opposite. The manufacturer was very responsive and provided some advice, but we ultimately returned it and may have to (sigh) consider cable when we finally lose all the analog stations later this year.
